12-year-old Brittany has a smile that lights up any room

Brittany enjoys playing basketball, watching BET and playing educational games on the computer.
Brittany is a twelve-year-old female with a warm smile that lights up any room.  She is on target developmentally, and confident that adoption is what she desires.  When meeting Brittany for the first time, she presents as being shy and soft spoken.  However, if a conversation strikes up about her current life situation, Brittany eagerly engages.  Like some pre-teens, Brittany does not consider school one of her most favorite places to be.  What she does enjoy about school, however, is the fact that she gets to spend time with her friends.  Brittany is in the 7th grade and receives average grades, as she struggles with being focused during assignments.  Brittany's behaviors at school are being addressed therapeutically.

Brittany enjoys playing basketball, watching BET (Black Entertainment Television) and playing educational games on the computer. When Brittany is asked about the type of family she would prefer, she makes it known that she is not picky when it comes to family.  The adults in Brittany's life believe that she would do well in a single or two-parent family as long as she can be the center of attention.  She also makes it clear that her family would have to be open to her maintaining contact with her sisters.  If you believe Brittany can be a part of your family, please do not hesitate to inquire.

For additional information about Brittany, or other children in need of adoption, call the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services at 1 (800) 259-3428.  If you are interested in providing a safe and stable home for a child who needs one, please call today or visit www.dcfs.louisiana.gov.
