Talented Fourteen-year-old Shines in the Spotlight

Fourteen-year-old Ja'Miracal enjoys singing and dancing at school and within the community.

Meet Ja'Miracal, a fourteen-year-old who seems very shy in the beginning but is full of personality once you get to know her. Ja'Miracal loves attention, and she does not mind letting you know in her own way when she feels she is being denied the limelight that she deserves. If you hang around for a while, you may get to see Ja'Miracal display her talent in singing and dancing. In the past, she sang gospel music in youth choirs within her community and danced in local school performances. During quiet times, Ja'Miracal enjoys reading and watching her favorite television shows like the Tyler Perry network series "House of Payne."

Although she is slow to develop close personal relationships, Ja'Miracal has a colorful personality. She has two younger siblings who are adopted and an older brother who is in the process of being adopted. Ja'Miracal needs a family who will be patient and understanding in regards to the losses and rejection she has faced in her life. Ja'Miracal is currently in therapy to address issues of separation and loss. To help Ja'Miracal develop positive coping skills for life's daily challenges, she is under medication management and receives special education services through the public school system.

Please inquire about Ja'Miracal if you believe that you are the family who can provide her with the consistency, structure and guidance she will need to overcome challenges and thrive.

For additional information about Ja'Miracal or other children in need of adoption, call the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services at 1 (800) 259-3428. If you are interested in providing a safe and stable home for a child who needs one, please call today or visit www.dcfs.louisiana.gov.
