At DCFS, we understand that even a minor interruption to our systems can have a significant impact on our clients and partners. The East Feliciana Parish office for Economic Stability and Child Welfare is closed until further notice due to a power outage stemming from the April 10 storm event.

All state offices, including all DCFS offices, will be closed on April 10 due to predicted, severe weather. This is a statewide office closure.

Monday, January 15, 2024 - 12:00 AM

All state offices, including all DCFS offices, will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024, due to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. 

Monday, January 8, 2024 - 12:00 PM

All state offices, including all DCFS offices, will close at noon Monday, January 8, 2024, due to predicted severe weather. This is a statewide office closure.

Sunday, December 10, 2023 - 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Systems Maintenance on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm may cause technical difficulties with some DCFS platforms and portals. In case of a life-threatening emergency, contact local law enforcement. Mandatory reporters can submit reports at www.dcfs.la.gov/MandatedReporterPortal. SNAP Interviews to be Rescheduled

DCFS staff are texting SNAP recipients who missed a scheduled interview as a result of the statewide system outage (May 18-19, 2023). If you missed your interview because of the outage, you will also will receive a letter confirming a new time for your rescheduled appointment.

DCFS is working to process child support payments as quickly as possible. You can verify if a payment has posted by checking the Customer Portal at www.dcfs.la.gov/cafe.

The Louisiana State Network has experienced an outage that is affecting all state email capability and systems that support DCFS programs and services, including the CAFE Self Service Portal.
The state Office of Technology Services is working to resolve the issue. We will post updates as they are available and apologize for any inconvenience this statewide outage is causing.
The email outage is affecting the operation of the DCFS Child Abuse/Neglect Hotline. Until the toll-free number returns to full operation, please make emergency reports to law enforcement. Mandatory reporters may still enter reports of abuse and/or neglect through the mandatory reporter portal at www.dcfs.la.gov/MandatedReporterPortal.
